Semi-Engineered Products

Internationally people are looking for alternatives to wood.

Bamboo plywood, parquet tiles, veneering, slats, and crushed bamboo are semi-engineered products made available to interior designers, architects and homeowners. These products can replace the hardwoods traditionally used for flooring, but also look beautiful when used for walling, ceilings, countertops, tabletops and other surfaces. Cabinet and furniture makers can also used semi-processed bamboo as material for other items within the home.

The flattened bamboo gives a new and contemporary look to the traditional bamboo poles, and the market for such products is increasing as people become more aware of this alternative. Because bamboo is readably available and easy to work with, these products can be made either in a manufacturing center or by hand at the community level, and presents an emerging and expanding market for bamboo development.
